To protect them from service outages and inadvertent intrusion by maintenance personnel, Brightspeed isolates and protects these circuit connections with digital signal cross-connect panels and carrier channel units, along with other access elements.

- Basic 911 service provides routing of all 911 calls within a local exchange switch to a single emergency call center.
- 911 service is available on a stand-alone basis with automatic number identification or with service features including: called party hold, emergency ring back, forced disconnect and/or switch hook status.
- E911 service is available with automatic number identification, select repeat, automatic local identification and private switch automatic local identification.
- Primary and default routing options available for both 911 and E911 services.
- Advanced E911 database contains end-user information which is automatically transmitted to the emergency call center at the time of the call.
- All access to emergency services is provided according to the terms of Commission-approved Interconnection Agreements.
