Access Personal TechProSM through the Pocket Geek Home® app

Your first step is to download the app from your device's app store. Once the app is installed:

  1. Register your account: Select Brightspeed as your internet provider, then enter your email address. We recommend you use the same email address that is connected with your Brightspeed account. The app might bypass this step if it recognizes the email address on your device.

  2. Add devices: You'll see an option to do a WiFi scan. This allows the app to scan for all devices connected to your network. You can then select from the list which devices to add to Pocket Geek Home. You can always add more devices in the future.

  3. Get support for any device: Select the device you need help with from your personal list of connected devices and then look at a how-to guide, get troubleshooting steps, or connect with Live Support.

The Personal TechPro team can help walk you through anything from setting up and connecting your devices to configuring and troubleshooting them. For instance, you may need help connecting your laptop to WiFi or Bluetooth®, or it may be running slow and it’s time for a tune-up. You may also need help setting up voice commands through your phone, Google Home or Amazon Echo to control your smart devices, automating your smart lighting so that it dims when you’re heading to bed, or programming your smart thermostat to stay comfortable throughout the day. Personal TechPro can help with it all.

Live support is available through the Pocket Geek Home app from 8 a.m. to midnight ET, seven days a week (excluding major holidays).

Pocket Geek® Home app how-to guides

The how-to guides in the Pocket Geek app provide helpful tips and tricks to manage and optimize your smart devices. You can even view visual step-by-step device simulators for a helpful walkthrough. 

 

In the app, tap the How-To Guides button from the home screen for the device you need help with, then select the type of guide you want to see. The options will vary depending on the device. You can always choose Live Support from any screen if you need more assistance.

Troubleshoot with the Pocket Geek® Home app

The troubleshoot tool provides self-help content for commonly found issues and allows you to drill down to your specific issue. It gives quick fixes for most smart devices and pointers for troubleshooting small issues quickly and easily.

 

To access options, find the device on the home screen that you want help with and tap the Troubleshoot button. You can always select the blue agent icon for Live Support from any screen.

Personal TechPro Live Support

  • Live Support – With just a tap on Live Support, you can connect with the U.S.-based Personal TechPro team via call or chat to get help with setting up, connecting, syncing or troubleshooting your smart devices. The Personal TechPro team can also help you discover new ways to use your devices so that you can fully optimize your smart home.


  • Screen and camera sharing – Once connected with the Personal TechPro team, you can share your screen or camera to show your issue to the technician in real time. The Personal TechPro team can then help resolve your issue by walking you through it, step by step.
